ABOUT MARLA MANN
Being in the entertainment business was a natural fit for me…some would say I was born into it even before I was born. My father is Earl Mann, a well-known voice announcer, whom I currently manage here in Canada; my mother, Gloria Mann, has been casting commercials since I was a little girl. She has proudly given a lot of well-known actors their first break in commercials and long format. My brother, Steven Mann, is also a prominent casting director. I spent my childhood in recording studios and casting rooms – it could be said my destiny was already preordained. I was also a child actor, shot commercials and did print work. After graduating from Radio and TV broadcasting, I was immediately hired to assistant produce jingles with Syd Kessler, also known as the Jingle King. After my mother’s hiatus to raise both my brother and I, I worked alongside her when she came back into casting.

With the background and experience I gained in voice/singing/jingles, and seeing the amazing amount of talent in our city, I decided to try my hand at producing, working at Partners Film Company, and learning how to produce commercials alongside top producers like Rob Allan and Tim Corrigan. At the age of 20, I decided it was time to make my mark and open my first talent agency.

After many incredible years of running my own agency, I got married and decided to leave the business for a bit to raise my two sons. After being away for three years, I joined another agency, then decided once again step out on my own. Being a single mom and running a talent agency certainly has its obstacles but being able to work from anywhere in the world on my MacBook has also afforded me time with my boys and still work the insane hours to be a successful talent agent.

My sons seem to also be following in the Mann family business. My oldest son, Joshie, is 12 years old and a member of ACTRA; my youngest son, Jesse, is an artist, having already commissioned his first piece of artwork at just 10 years old.

To say I love this business and community is an understatement. It is truly my family, my friends and my home, and I am so proud to be a part of this incredible community. I love my job. I love what I do every single day. I am so blessed to build careers and see them prosper through hard work and teamwork.

I currently own Marla Mann Agency here in Toronto, and I represent both Canadian and American talent.

I am very picky about who I represent and I hand pick every single actor on my roster.

I represent actors in all genre’s of the entertainment business from feature films, TV series, MOW’s, commercials, voice overs, singers, public speakers, YouTube creators (and soon to represent writers as well).
