Next year’s calendar of comic book films will see Marvel introducing its newest hero, Captain Marvel, and capping off the third phase of its Cinematic Universe with April’s Avengers: Endgame. In July, Spider-Man will help usher in a new wave of superhero storytelling in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Fox will counter with two X-Men films The New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

After scoring with Aquaman earlier this month, DC will continue to chart a new path for its superhero slate with the Toronto-shot Shazam! and a standalone Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Meanwhile, Star Wars fans won’t have to wait much longer for their next out-of-this-world fix. Star Wars: Episode IX, which marks the conclusion of the Skywalker saga, hits screens in December.

Following the wildly successful Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, moviegoers will be treated to a warts-and-all look at Elton John in Rocketman.
