Run This Town, starring Damien Lewis as the late Toronto mayor, opens on March 6

There isn’t much Rob Ford in the Run This Town trailer, which is about as slick and entertaining as the movie itself.

But anyone watching the teaser without a clue as to what the movie is about might ask the same question co-star Ben Platt asks at the trailer’s end: “What am I looking at?”

The late Toronto mayor is in there, as played by Damien Lewis under a layer of latex, hunched over a barely lit desk. You can also catch split-second glimpses of his back – clad in a Ford jersey – as he runs from reporters, as well as a close-up of Lewis’s face. READ MORE

TRAILER FOR THE ROB FORD MOVIE HAS BEEN RELEASED
While the Rob Ford movie premiered last spring at SXSW, the trailer was just released.

The film, which was filming in Toronto back in 2018, features English actor Damian Lewis playing the former Toronto mayor.

“What am I looking at?” asks Bram, the cub reporter played by Ben Platt, at the end of the teaser trailer for Run This Town, the hotly anticipated (in Toronto, at least) film about the late Rob Ford’s assorted scandals.

It’s a good question. The movie, which premiered last March at Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, is 99 minutes long. The trailer, which dropped at 11 a.m. today via the actors’ Twitter feeds, is a mere 83 seconds. But let’s parse it anyway. READ MORE
