Bill & Ted 3: Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and the writers talk proposed sequel (which might actually happen!): Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure hit theaters in 1989 and became a box office phenomenon. It was a multimedia franchise for the multimedia age. There was a cartoon spin-off, a live-action TV spin-off, a Nintendo game. 1991 brought a sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, where the San Dimas duo played by Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter went on a journey through the afterlife, meeting the Grim Reaper (William Sadler) and defeating him in a bout of Battleship.  READ MORE

Bill & Ted writer reveals how the planned third film will pay tribute to George Carlin’s Rufus
The last film in the franchise was released 27 years ago, with a sequel in active development for almost a decade, so why has it taken so long for a new Bill & Ted movie to materialise?

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, writer Ed Solomon – who, with Chris Matheson, created the characters and wrote both original movies – revealed fresh details about the film, called Bill & Ted Face the Music, and why it’s proving so hard to pull together.

“We have been working for almost 10 years to get this thing made; Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, Chris Matheson, me… we have a director – Dean Parisot, who did Galaxy Quest – Steven Soderbergh is one of our producers. We have a wonderful assembly of people. READ MORE

‘Bill & Ted 3’ could finally happen for Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter with ‘Face the Music’
It’s been nearly 30 years since Keanu Reeves (Bill) and Alex Winter (Ted) started their insane, teenage, time-traveling antics in 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Adventure.

But Reeves, 53, and Winter, 52, say they are closer than ever to making a third film with a script titled Bill & Ted Face the Music from original screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. READ MORE

A Third ‘Bill And Ted’ Movie Has ‘Never Been Closer’ To Actually Happening:  We got two Bill and Ted movies, 1989’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bogus Journey, in two years, but none since. Sometimes the world isn’t fair, y’know?

It’s not for a lack of trying, however: a third film has been in discussion for over a decade, according to Keanu Reeves in an enlightening interview with Entertainment Weekly. “[Writers] Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon pitched us an idea. It sounded great,” he said, but “in show business, there’s show and then there’s business.” In other words, nobody wanted to pony up the dough to make more Bill and Ted, but that was before the reboot craze took over.  READ MORE

New ‘Bill & Ted 3’ Details Revealed; Writer Ed Solomon Likens It to ‘A Christmas Carol’:  The long-awaited Bill & Ted 3 might actually, maybe, possibly really happen. A third film in the Bill & Ted franchise has been in the works for a long while, with writers Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson—who wrote Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey—beginning work on a script back in 2010. The sequel has never officially been set up at a studio, but given Solomon and Matheson’s passion for the characters and stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter’s desire to return, the writers wrote a script completely on spec.

While Bill & Ted 3 is still technically “in development,” new details have arisen from EW, which gathered Solomon, Matheson, Reeves, and Winter for a reunion piece. Titled Bill & Ted Face the Music, the sequel focuses on Rufus’s (George Carlin) promise at the end of Excellent Adventure that Bill and Ted would go on to write music that would turn the world into a utopia. The problem is, in Face the Music, they haven’t really done that yet. READ MORE
