Nominations are now open for the Canadian Media Producers Association – CMPA’s upcoming partial elections, for positions on their Board of Directors. As part of the CMPA’s commitment to elevate underrepresented voices and to increase the diversity of the Board, this election is being called as an interim step to immediately realign the makeup of the Board.
This is to help meet their recently announced target that at least 25 per cent of board seats be filled by individuals who self-identify as belonging to underrepresented groups, including but not limited to Indigenous peoples, Black and other racialized individuals, LGBTQQI2SAA+ and persons with disabilities.
The 2019-2021 Board’s term expires in September 2021, at which time a full election will take place. Any current member of the CMPA may run for the Board.
Nominations close August 24, 2020.
