NOMFA 2019 is much more than an award celebration it is also a mini media arts festival. Each night of the conference we will be hosting some of the best musical acts from across Northern Ontario and we will be showcasing films that were created here in the north.
NOMFA 2019 will have two film showcases. On Friday, May 24th, we will hosting a special viewing of Terry Sawchuk biopic Goalie, that was filmed in Sudbury Following a screening of the film, producer Daniel Iron will be on hand to relate the ins and outs of the filmmaking process, offering insights on different facets of development and the teamwork required to have a film project succeed.
Then on Saturday, May 25th, NOMFA will be showing all the nominees in the Short Film Category: Bonsai Dream, Future Sick, The Last Wish, The Philanthropist and Post-Script. The directors will be on-hand to answer questions following the screening.
NOMFA 2019 will also feature three musical showcases:
On Thursday May 23 at 8:00 PM at the La Fromagerie will feature Melody McKiver + Darius Gray, Mclean, Rose-Erin Stokes, and Kalle Mattson.
On Friday, May 24 at 8:00 PM at Little Montreal will feature Nick Sherman + Rico Littledeer, Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect, Greyson Gritt, Jennifer Holub, The Honest Heart Collective.
And Saturday May 25th, NOMFA concludes with the after party on at the Townhouse Tavern at 10 PM with Silvertongue and TESSA.
