‘STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’ SEASON 3: DAVID AJALA JOINS CAST
David Ajala has joined the cast of “Star Trek: Discovery” for the show’s third season. The casting was announced during the show’s segment of the “Star Trek Universe” Hall H panel at Comic-Con 2019.

Ajala will play a new character named Cleveland Booker, also known as “Book.” He was joined on stage at Comic-Con by “Discovery” star Sonequa Martin-Green and executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise and Heather Kadin. READ MORE

‘STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’ SEASON 3 WILL JUMP MASSIVE 1,000 YEARS INTO FUTURE – COMIC-CON
At today’s Star Trek: Discovery Comic-Con panel, creator Alex Kurtzman teased that season 3 “will take place 1,000 years in the future” after the end of season 2. “The farthest that any Star Trek series has gone before.”

“There will be things you recognize and don’t recognize,” added the creator of the CBS All Access series. READ MORE


SDCC 2019: STAR TREK PANELS DETAIL PICARD, DISCOVERY, AND LOWER DECKS
During the Star Trek panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Star Trek Discovery creator Alex Kurtzman provided some new information about the show’s upcoming third season. Discovery kicked off the panel and Kurtzman confirmed that the show will take a “radical jump 1000 years into the future.”

This leap of time, he noted, was further than any Star Trek has gone before. As such, the show will introduce numerous changes. There will be “things you recognize, things you don’t recognize,” Kurtzman said. “We get to honor canon, but shake it up quite a bit. It’s still Star Trek, and it will always be Star Trek the way Roddenberry wanted it.” READ MORE

The Star Trek SDCC 2019 panel did not disappoint. Not only did we find out that Spock and Captain Pike will return in Short Treks (more on that later), but we now know exactly when Star Trek Discovery season 3 is set. On top of that, a new Discovery cast member was announced. Our sister publication, SFX, was there to log everything down.
