Q&A: GETTING TO KNOW SMITHS FALLS COUNTRY SINGER-SONGWRITER AMANDA JORDAN
How did Smiths Falls country singer-songwriter Amanda Jordan get interested in music? What advice does she have for aspiring musicians? This newspaper reached out to the local personality to find out.
What got you interested in becoming a singer?
Jordan: I’ve always loved music, it’s like therapy to me and I can’t imagine life without it. I grew up listening to country on the radio at my grandma’s house and my two brothers and myself were always taking music lessons, from cello to violin to step-dancing.
Jordan: I started singing at 18 months. The story goes that my caregiver told my mom that I was standing in my crib singing Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen by Patsy Cline. My mom didn’t believe her until she heard me singing the chorus for herself. It was from a nursery rhyme tape that I listened to each night.
What’s it like to work and perform with country singers like Brett Kissel?
Jordan: Being selected to perform in Sudbury as his opening act was an amazing opportunity! READ MORE
