The new movie from director Patrick Hughes, the man behind The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Expendables 3, was originally set to be shot in the US, but production was moved to the film’s namesake city due to the ongoing pandemic. READ MORE


TORONTO PLAYS NEW YORK IN MAN FROM TORONTO
A new movie called Man From Toronto starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson started shooting in Toronto on Tuesday.

But just because the movie has Toronto in the title and is being shot up here, doesn’t mean it takes place here – like, at all.

Toronto is once again standing in for New York, among other cities, a rep from Sony confirmed to NOW. In fact, the movie’s production only moved to Toronto from the U.S. because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an Instagram post from director Patrick Hughes.

Hollywood studios have been eyeballing Canadian studio space for months. They’ve been considering moving their productions particularly from Georgia because we’re supposedly handling the pandemic better. KALEY CUOCO JUST ARRIVED IN TORONTO TO FILM KEVIN HART’S NEW MOVIE
And the celebrity-studded cast is growing!

A growing number of celebrities are joining the cast of Kevin Hart’s new movie, Man From Toronto.

Despite its name, the film is set in New York City, meaning Toronto will be reprising its famous role — the Big Apple.

Kevin Hart is starring in the movie alongside Kaley Cuoco, Woody Harrelson, and more.

NEW CAST MEMBERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE MAN FROM TORONTO MOVIE AS FILMING BEGINS
The much-anticipated new Sony film starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, titled The Man from Toronto, officially began filming in the city this week, and a few new cast members have also been announced.

Movie lovers have been anxiously awaiting any new available details about the film, which was originally due to begin filming in the city back in the spring but was delayed thanks to COVID-19, and fortunately we now know that Hart and Harrelson will be joined by three talented female co-stars.

According to Deadline, actor Jasmine Mathews, known for her roles in Blue Bloods and Heathers, has officially joined the cast of the movie.

British actor Melanie Liburd, who has appeared in Dark MatterThe Grinder and even an episode of Game of Thrones, is also set to appear in the movie, as well as The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco.

The entire cast of The Man From Toronto was required to quarantine for a two-week period before shooting began on Tuesday, according to a YouTube video posted last week by actor Pierson Fodé, who is also a cast member.  READ MORE


JENCARLOS CANELA JOINS KEVIN HART IN SONY’S ‘MAN FROM TORONTO’
Actor-singer Jencarlos Canela is set to join the ensemble of the Sony Pictures’ action comedy Man From Toronto starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. Kaley Cuoco and Melanie Liburd are also on board.

The film revolves around a case of mistaken identity after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the “man from Toronto,” and a stranger, played by Hart, run into each other at an Airbnb. Chaos soon ensues as the assassin’s world comes crashing down on Hart.

Patrick Hughes, who directed Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson’s 2017 action-comedy “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” is on board to helm. Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner wrote the script from a story he conceived with Jason Blumenthal. Blumenthal is producing along with his Escape Artists partners, Todd Black and Steve Tisch.
