MASSIVE NEW 600,000 SQ. FT. FILM STUDIO TO BE BUILT IN METRO VANCOUVER
When complete, Martini Film Studios’ (MFS) new purpose-built, world-class facility in Metro Vancouver will be the largest film and production studio in Canada and one of North America’s biggest.

MFS announced today it will be a tenant of the new 80-acre Langley 216 Business Park that will be constructed next to Highway 1’s new 216th Street interchange in Langley Township’s Walnut Grove area. The studio’s parent company is the owner of the entire business park property. READ MORE


VANCOUVER PRODUCTION HUB UNVEILS MASSIVE EXPANSION
Vancouver’s Martini Film Studios on Saturday announced a giant expansion during the Toronto Film Festival.

The suburban Vancouver studio, which opened two years ago with Netflix as a frequent user, will add a 600,000-square-foot facility to include 300,000 square feet of new soundstages and 300,000 square feet of production support space for wardrobe, workshops and offices. READ MORE

A major new studio development has been earmarked for the Vancouver area that its backers claim could increase the metropolitan area’s film capacity by 15%.

The development announced by Martini Film Studios on Saturday (7) would feature more than 600,000 sq ft of purpose-built soundstages, offices and production support buildings over more than 25 acres in Langley, 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

Martini plans to dedicate at least 300,000 sq ft to soundstages, and the studio project is in the design and planning stage based on industry and client consultation. The Metro Vancouver area currently houses approximately two million sq ft of film-ready soundstage space. READ MORE

A B.C. studio expansion announced at the Toronto Film Festival Saturday increases Hollywood North film capacity by as much as 15 per cent.

The new 600,000-square-foot facility at Martini Film Studios in Langley’s Walnut Grove neighbourhood will include 300,000 sq. ft. of purpose-built sound stages and 300,000 sq. ft. of support buildings. MARTINI FILM STUDIOS’ NEW DEVELOPMENT WILL INCREASE GREATER VANCOUVER’S FILM CAPACITY BY UP TO 15 PERCENT
Press Release:  Saturday, Sept 7 – (Langley, BC/Toronto, ON) Martini Film Studios today announces a new studio development that could raise Greater Vancouver’s film capacity by as much as 15 percent. The new facility will feature over 600,000 square feet of purpose-built soundstages, offices and production support buildings built across more than 25 acres in Langley, 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

Metro Vancouver is home to approximately two million square feet of film-ready soundstage space, and Martini Film Studios’ new campus will dedicate at least 300,000 square feet to soundstages, representing a significant infusion of new film stock. The development is currently undergoing design and planning based on industry and client consultation.

This announcement marks the region’s first major studio development since Martini Film Studios first opened the doors to its 250,000 square feet of combined studio facilities two years ago. Upon completion of this new campus, Martini Film Studios will more than triple its current capacity and become the largest provider of film studio facilities in the Lower Mainland.

According to research from the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC), the film industry added $3.8 billion to the local economy in 2018. The same research finds that the industry has added $18.7 billion to the local economy since 2012, including $10.2 billion in wages paid directly to British Columbians.

Since its opening, Martini Film Studios has enjoyed close partnerships with Netflix and MBS Equipment Company. Current productions filming at Martini Film Studios include The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Warner Bros./Netflix), Another Life (Netflix), and Snowpiercer (TBS).
