Skeleton crew: Next week’s episode of U.S. network show Bones set in Newfoundland

Locations shot by Newfoundland and Labrador company include St. John's, Bay Bulls, Cape Broyle

Newfoundland fans of forensic investigation thriller Bones may recognize the setting of next week’s episode.

The Fox Television show hired Newfoundland and Labrador company Wavelight Productions to shoot footage in several locations around the Avalon Peninsula in September, for an episode that airs Feb. 21.

The eighth episode of Season 12, “The Grief and the Girl,” will feature shots of Harbour Drive and Gower Street in St. John’s, Bay Bulls, Cape Broyle, Logy Bay, Middle Cove and Pouch Cove.

Producer ‘did a ton of research’ on Newfoundland

Bones is a long-running program starring Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperance (Bones) Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who works closely with FBI agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, to solve cases involving human remains.

Wavelight general manager and producer Kelly Collins said the company became involved when she got a call from the show’s executive producer.
