Fall is the time to get crafty when it comes to a girls’ night out or date night. From the perfect cool weather and changing leaves to festive drinks and events, there’s just something about fall that makes it the perfect time to make plans. While we might be a bit biased, we think we’ve found one of the best ways to ring in the spooky season before Halloween!

One of the best ways to get ready for Halloween hands down is to watch a scary movie, but considering it’s a pretty blasé activity, it can be hard to find a way to spice it up. Luckily there is one spot in Ontario that offers the perfect way to enjoy a flick and ring in fall in a fun and unique way!

Drive in time!

The blast from the past we’re talking about is only a half hour away from Toronto over at the 5 Drive-In in Oakville. There you can enjoy a movie or two in the comfort of your own car retro-style surrounded by the fall foliage- what’s more fall-esque than that?!

In the spirit of Halloween, 5 Drive-In’s representative has told us they are going to be airing Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween and Halloween(2018) come October 19th. On top of that, a third feature is in the works involving either Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13thHellfest will also be a movie coming to the Drive-In this month but the date has yet to be determined as of now.

If you are already packing your blankets and pillows into the trunk of your car, just wait- you’re going to want to know more! The box office for the spot usually opens around 7 PM and one $13 ticket actually gives you access to two films on the screen you choose on the lot! So don’t leave after the first movie is done because it’s basically a 2-for-1 deal!

While it’s customary to enjoy the film from your trunk or car seats, you can also bring chairs to watch outside if you want to- just make sure to bring enough blankets to fend off the cooler weather! Also, don’t worry about having to stock up on snacks, the drive-in actually has concessions on site as well for you to grab before your movie starts.
